Handwoven from coastal swampgrass in Benin, West Africa. These baskets serve multiple uses for the people of the swampy delta region of Benin and Togo. This basket is among the smallest although some are even smaller; the majority are much larger. This one is of the most common type, undecorated; all the reeds are wider making for a bolder weave and some are darker which renders a more interesting texture.

This basket is 6" tall with a 3 1/2" diameter opening.
